Short answer
Is the Rho corporate card worth it?
For a US-incorporated company that already banks with Rho or is willing to, yes. The card costs nothing, needs no personal guarantee and pays 1.25% back on Daily Terms, rising to 2% if payroll, revenue and at least half of the company's assets sit at Rho. If you want to keep your bank, a card platform that does not tie rewards to deposits is the simpler choice.

The choice that sets your cashback
Rho card Daily Terms vs Monthly Terms
Daily Terms sweep the card balance from your Rho account every day, and Rho pays the higher rate for it. Monthly Terms give you a normal statement cycle and roughly 30 days of float, at a quarter point less, and only once you hold $25,000 at Rho or $75,000 across Rho and linked accounts.
The arithmetic is simple. A company putting $50,000 a month on the card earns $7,500 a year on Daily Terms and $6,000 on Monthly Terms. The $1,500 gap is the price of a month's float on about $50,000. If cash is comfortable, take Daily Terms and the higher rate. If you manage cash tightly, the float is worth more.
Daily sweeping has a side effect finance teams notice. Spend leaves the operating account the next day, so a department that overspends shows up in cash before it shows up in any month-end report.
Cashback a year on $50,000 a month
$600,000 of yearly spend, under Rho's $1,000,000 cashback ceiling. Paid in full and on time.
Rho Platinum
How to qualify for Rho Platinum and the 2% rate
Platinum is free, but it is not a card upgrade you apply for. It is a reward for making Rho your main bank, and all four conditions have to hold at once.
01
Payroll from Rho
Your payroll provider debits the Rho account, not another bank.
02
Revenue into Rho Checking
Customer payments and processor payouts land at Rho.
03
Half the assets at Rho
At least 50% of company assets held with Rho, treasury included.
04
An open Rho card
The corporate card is active and paid in full on time.
The third condition is the one that decides it for venture-backed companies. If a board or a treasury policy spreads cash across several banks, moving half of it to one provider is a real concentration decision, not a rewards decision. Rho says deposits are insured up to $75 million through its sweep network, and its treasury fee runs from 0.6% a year on balances under $2 million down to 0.15% above $20 million. Weigh both before you move money for three quarters of a point of cashback.
Rho also says the rate falls back to standard if the account stops meeting the conditions, so a payroll switch or a funding round parked at another bank can quietly cost you the Platinum rate.
Rho vs Ramp
Rho vs Ramp and Brex on the card and the software
All three issue a charge card with no personal guarantee. They differ on what you pay for software and on whether the card wants your bank account too. Prices read from each pricing page on October 1, 2026.
Swipe the table sideways to compare all columns.
| Rho | Ramp | Brex | SpendNotify | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Software fee | $0, every feature included | Free $0. Plus $15 per user a month plus a platform fee. Enterprise custom. | Essentials $0. Premium $12 per user a month. Enterprise custom. | Flat per month, from $199 (Team) |
| Card rewards | 1% to 1.25%, up to 2% on Platinum | Up to 1.5%, set per customer | Points, with category multipliers | Issues no card. Keep your rewards. |
| Banking | Checking, savings, treasury, bill pay in one account | Keeps your existing bank as the funding account | Business account and treasury, owned by Capital One since 2026 | Reads from the banks and cards you already use |
| Best for | Companies ready to make Rho the main bank | Teams wanting the deepest expense and procurement software | Funded startups with heavy travel and software spend | Finance teams that need budget warnings across every card |
| Budget pace alerts | Limits and off-policy flags on Rho spend | Limits and budgets on Ramp spend | Limits and budgets on Brex spend | Month-end projection on all card and bank spend |
Is Rho better than Ramp?
It depends on the bank question. Rho wins if you want one account for checking, treasury, bill pay and the card, and no software bill at any size. Ramp wins if you want to keep your bank and buy the deepest expense and procurement software, and accept $15 per user a month plus a platform fee on Plus. The full cost picture is on Ramp pricing.
Rho vs Brex for a growing team
Brex rewards points by category and charges $12 per user a month for Premium. Rho pays flat cashback and charges nothing for software. Which costs less depends on headcount and what you spend on, and we worked it out at three company sizes in Rho vs Brex pricing.
What card controls do not see
Where Rho card limits stop and budget alerts start
A limit answers "can this charge go through". A budget owner needs to know "are we on pace for the month". Those are different questions, and the second one usually spans more than one card.
Legacy cards stay around
The Amex that holds the ad accounts, a founder's card on AWS. Rho sees none of it.
A limit is not a pace
A $20,000 monthly card limit is fine on the 25th and alarming if it is half gone by the 8th.
Budgets cross cards
Marketing spends on three cards and an ACH to an agency. The budget is one number.
Where SpendNotify fits, and where it does not
SpendNotify issues no cards, holds no deposits and will not replace Rho. It takes in charges from every card and bank account you use, Rho included (forwarded bank transaction emails, an iPhone Shortcut for Apple Pay, or a CSV, OFX or QFX statement), projects each department's month against its budget, and alerts the budget owner by email, Slack or webhook the day a team is on pace to overshoot. How the projection works is on budget alerts, and the card-feed side on corporate card monitoring.
Before you apply
How to set up the Rho card without leaving money on the table
01
Decide the bank question first
If payroll and revenue will not move to Rho, plan on 1.25%, not 2%.
02
Pick terms on cash, not habit
Daily Terms pay more. Monthly Terms buy float. Price the float against the quarter point.
03
Set limits per team
Monthly limits on each department's cards, vendor cards for every recurring bill.
04
Diary the redemption
Cashback not redeemed within 12 months is forfeited. Redeem it every quarter.
Questions buyers ask
Rho corporate card questions, answered
Is the Rho card a credit card or a charge card?
It is a charge card. The balance is paid in full each cycle, daily or monthly depending on your terms, and nothing revolves, so there is no interest. It runs on Mastercard World Elite Business and is issued by Webster Bank, a division of Santander Bank, N.A.
Does the Rho corporate card require a personal guarantee?
No. Rho states there is no personal guarantee and no consumer credit report. The company has to be incorporated in the US with an EIN. Daily Terms come with approval, and Monthly Terms need $25,000 at Rho or $75,000 across Rho and linked accounts, subject to underwriting.
How much cashback does the Rho card pay?
1.25% on Daily Terms and 1% on Monthly Terms, rising to 2% and 1.75% with Rho Platinum. It covers up to $1,000,000 of eligible spend per calendar year, must be redeemed within 12 months, and depends on paying the full statement balance on time.
Does the Rho card have an annual fee?
No. Rho lists $0 for the annual fee, subscriptions and each additional card, and its expense, AP and accounting automation are included. The fees Rho does publish are on international money movement, such as 1% on foreign currency transfers and conversion.
Does the Rho card send budget alerts?
Rho sets per-transaction, daily or monthly limits before a card is issued, routes approvals by amount or team, and flags off-policy spend at the swipe. It does not describe a forecast alert on a department's monthly pace across other cards. SpendNotify adds that on top of Rho and anything else you pay with.
Which accounting software does Rho integrate with?
QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Puzzle. Transactions sync with coding pulled from the ledger, and the Gmail connector attaches receipts from purchase confirmations. If you close the books in Xero, confirm the route with Rho before you sign.
