Teampay is now part of Paystand

Teampay alternatives compared with Teampay pricing and reviews since Paystand bought it

Teampay made its name on purchase requests in Slack: ask for the spend, get a one-click approval, receive a card with the right limit. Since April 2024 it belongs to Paystand, it has no public price, and your next renewal comes from a payments company. Here is what still does the same job, what each option costs at your headcount, and when staying put is the sensible call.

Set a department budget and see the day it would have warned you

Approving a request is one control. Knowing that marketing has already used 85 percent of its quarter by week six is another, and it is the one most teams lose during a platform switch. Pick a budget, replay a month of card spend and watch when the alert fires. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Short answer

What is the best Teampay alternative?

For a US company willing to move its card program, Ramp is the closest match: issued cards with approvals, QuickBooks Online and Xero sync on its $0 plan, and NetSuite or Sage Intacct sync on Plus at $15 per user a month. Brex suits funded companies that want cards in many countries. Procurify suits teams that need real purchase orders. If you want to keep the cards you have, look at Navan Expense or Expensify instead, because Ramp and Brex only control their own cards.

When What happened What it means for you
April 25, 2024 Paystand announces it has acquired Teampay. Terms are not disclosed. It is Paystand's second acquisition, after Yaydoo in 2022. Your spend tool now belongs to a B2B payments network whose stated goal is to put receivables and payables in one system.
Since then teampay.co returns a permanent redirect to paystand.com. The product is sold as Teampay by Paystand. Support, contracts and renewals come from Paystand. Old bookmarks and help links may land somewhere new.
Today Teampay is positioned as a spend agent in Slack and Teams that chases receipts, codes spend and enforces policy, with no price on the page. The product is alive and developed. What you cannot do is model next year's cost from the website.

Why staying can make sense

Teampay keeps native two-way sync with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and QuickBooks Online, and it works with connected cards such as Amex as well as its own. If your approvers live in Slack or Teams and the close runs cleanly, a migration buys you little. Use the alternatives below as leverage on the renewal quote.

Why companies start looking

A quote-only product owned by a payments company is hard to budget. Buyers usually start shopping when a renewal arrives with a bigger number, when the account team changes, or when finance wants one card platform instead of a request tool sitting on top of several.

The shortlist

Teampay alternatives compared on price, cards and fit

Prices read from each vendor's own pricing page. Where a vendor does not publish a number, the table says so rather than repeating a figure from a directory.

Tool Published price Cards Best for
Teampay Not published. Quote through Paystand. Its own virtual and physical cards, plus connected cards such as Amex. Teams whose approvers live in Slack or Teams and who post to NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365 or QuickBooks Online.
Ramp Free $0. Plus $15 per user a month plus a platform fee based on team size. Procurement is an unpriced add-on to Plus. Controls work on Ramp's own card. US companies ready to move all card spend to one issuer and get requests, cards and bill pay together.
Brex Essentials $0. Premium $12 per user a month. Enterprise and Smart Card custom. Brex card, issued in many countries. Strict eligibility. Funded or higher-revenue companies with staff abroad. Capital One completed its purchase of Brex in April 2026.
Procurify Not published. Priced by Pro users, with unlimited basic requesters. Optional card product. Purchasing comes first. Teams that need purchase orders, receiving and budget checks before the money is committed.
Navan Expense Free for 5 active users, then $15 per active user a month, up to 300 employees. Navan card, or your existing cards through Navan Connect. Companies where travel is a big share of spend and booking should sit in the same tool.
Expensify Collect $5 per member a month. Control $18 per active member on an annual plan. Imports outside card feeds, or the Expensify Card. Expense-first teams that do not need pre-approval and want simple reports.
Paylocity for Finance Not published. Formerly Airbase. Existing cards or Paylocity-issued cards. Companies already running payroll on Paylocity. Another acquired tool, so ask the same roadmap questions.

The math that decides it

What a Teampay alternative costs a year at 50 and 150 card users

Because Teampay is quote only, the useful number is what the alternatives cost on their published list prices. That gives you a ceiling to hold the renewal against. The table counts every card user as active every month, which is the worst case for the tools that meter on activity.

Two things jump out. The free plans from Ramp and Brex are genuinely free, and many Teampay customers would fit inside them if they can move the card program. And once you pay per user, the bill for 150 people lands between about $21,600 and $32,400 a year before any platform fee, so a Teampay quote well under that is a fair deal.

Plan How it charges 50 users a year 150 users a year
Ramp Free $0, on the Ramp card $0 $0
Brex Essentials $0, on the Brex card, if approved $0 $0
Brex Premium $12 per user a month $7,200 $21,600
Navan Expense First 5 free, then $15 per active user $8,100 $26,100
Ramp Plus $15 per user plus a platform fee $9,000 + fee $27,000 + fee
Expensify Control $18 per active member, annual $10,800 $32,400

Pick by the problem you have

Best Teampay alternative in each situation

The right replacement depends on which part of Teampay you actually used. Start from that, not from a ranked list.

01

You used it for requests and cards

Ramp. Cards with limits and approvals; the Free plan works if you post to QuickBooks Online or Xero, Plus if you run NetSuite.

02

You need purchase orders

Procurify. Requests become POs, goods get received, and budgets are checked before anything is committed.

03

Staff spend in several countries

Brex, if you clear its eligibility bar. Local cards in many countries avoid a lot of foreign exchange cost.

04

The Amex program has to stay

Navan Expense or Expensify. Both import outside card feeds, so the corporate card does not change.

05

Payroll already runs on Paylocity

Paylocity for Finance, the former Airbase, keeps people data and spend in one vendor.

06

Approvals are fine, budgets are not

You may not need to switch at all. An alert on the card spend you already have warns the budget owner mid-month.

Before you switch

An approved request is not a budget that holds

Teampay and every tool in that table check spend one request at a time. A $3,000 software purchase gets approved because it fits the policy. So does the next one, and the conference sponsorship after that. Each was fine. Together they put the department 30 percent over its quarter, and nobody sees the total until the close.

Some spend never goes through a request at all: subscriptions renewing on a card, travel booked on the road, the vendor that bills a card on file. A migration month is exactly when that spend slips, because it lands in two systems while people learn the new one.

That gap is what SpendNotify covers. It reads every charge on the cards you already hold and warns the budget owner while the month is still open, whichever request tool you keep. Our spend control software comparison covers the card platforms in more depth, and procurement software for small business covers the purchase order side.

Operations team walking through a purchase request workflow on a large screen during software onboarding
During a switch, requests move to the new tool in a week. Card charges keep arriving in both for a month or more.

Where SpendNotify fits, and where it does not

SpendNotify does not issue cards, route purchase requests or replace Teampay. It reads the charges from your Amex, Teampay or any other card through forwarded bank transaction emails, an iPhone Shortcut for Apple Pay, or a CSV, OFX or QFX statement, and alerts the budget owner by email, Slack or webhook when a department is on pace to overshoot.

Pricing is flat, not per user: Team covers up to 25 monitored employees and cards for $199 a month, Growth up to 100 for $449. How the alerts work is on budget alerts.

A clean exit

How to leave Teampay without losing a close

01

Export open requests and cards

List every live card, its limit and owner, plus requests approved but not yet spent. Those are what break first.

02

Move vendors on cards

Recurring vendors billing a Teampay card need the new card number before the old one closes, or a SaaS tool goes dark.

03

Switch at a period start

Cut over on the first day of a month so each close lives in one system and the ERP mapping is tested once.

04

Watch budgets in between

For the overlap, monitor the cards themselves so no department drifts while spend is split across two tools.

Questions buyers ask

Teampay pricing and alternatives questions

How much does Teampay cost?

Teampay does not publish a price. Since Paystand bought it in April 2024, the old teampay.co site redirects to Paystand, whose Teampay page offers a conversation with an expert instead of a rate card. Expect a quote, and ask whether it is bundled with Paystand payments, how users are counted and what the renewal increase cap is.

Who owns Teampay?

Paystand, a California B2B payments company. Paystand announced it had acquired Teampay on April 25, 2024, without disclosing terms. It was Paystand's second acquisition after Yaydoo in 2022. Teampay is now sold as Teampay by Paystand, and teampay.co redirects to paystand.com.

Is Teampay the same as TeamPay by ADP?

No. TeamPay by ADP is a payroll product, and its login lives on an ADP domain. Teampay by Paystand is spend management software for purchase requests, company cards and reimbursements. Review sites sometimes mix the two, so check which one a list of alternatives is actually about.

Can I replace Teampay without changing corporate cards?

Yes, but not with Ramp or Brex, whose controls work on their own cards. Navan Expense and Expensify both import outside card feeds, and SAP Concur works with most US issuers. If what you need from Teampay is mainly the budget warning, SpendNotify reads the cards you already hold and alerts the budget owner without a card change.

Is Teampay still a good product after the acquisition?

It is still sold and still developed: Paystand now markets it as a spend agent in Slack and Teams that chases receipts, codes spend and enforces policy, with native NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365 and QuickBooks Online sync. The real question for a renewal is price and roadmap under a payments company, so get both in writing.

Is Ramp cheaper than Teampay?

Often, if you can move your cards. Ramp's Free plan costs $0 and includes cards with QuickBooks Online and Xero sync, and Plus, which adds NetSuite and Sage Intacct, is $15 per user a month plus a platform fee. Teampay has no public price, so the only way to know is to put a Ramp quote next to your Teampay renewal. Ramp will not help if your Amex program has to stay.

What should I ask Paystand before renewing Teampay?

Ask four things in writing: the price per year and how users are counted, the cap on next year's increase, whether any discount depends on moving payments or receivables onto Paystand, and the roadmap for the integrations you rely on. A clear answer on all four makes staying a reasonable choice.
